MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Gaming X 4G

Budget segment of graphics solutions has been updated recently by means of MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and GeForce GTX 1050. The novelties are based on 14-nm GPU GP107 with NVIDIA Pascal architecture. The first reviewed videos showed good results at a low potential of overclocking. It is time to look at what can offer the best versions of these novelties. And MSI graphics card from Gaming lineup will help us with this.

The reviewed model belongs to a series of Gaming X cards, offering the best combination of performance among the MSI products. Such solutions are equipped with a highly efficient cooling system Twin Frozr VI by default and offer maximum factory overclocking.

The card comes in the box traditional for this series, which is decorated in red tones. Package is minimum and includes only the most necessary stuff – CD with software and user manual.

MSI GTX 1050 Ti Gaming X 4G looks like top representatives of Gaming family. It withstands a single style in the design of the casing of the cooling system, uses two specially designed fan.

All is made in red or black colors. Highlights of some elements are used on the body (red teeth, side logo). The total length of the video card 23 centimeters.

The printed circuit board is shorter by a couple of centimeters. In the corner is one six-pin power connector, although the usual version of GeForce GTX 1050 Ti does not require an external power supply.

On the rear panel are placed three connectors to output video: DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI.

Let’s take a closer look at the cooling system. Although this device uses the cooler Twin Frozr VI, but its design compared with older video cards is easier. It involved a thick heat pipe with a diameter of 8 mm. Thanks to the technology of direct contact, the tube is in direct contact with the surface of the graphics chip.

The heat pipe lies the most tightly in the groove base. Bending, it penetrates the side of the radiator. There is also a pair of blue thermal spacers on the base for the contact with memory chips.

The whole structure is blown with two fans Power Logic PLD09210S12HH, which meet the 90-mm standard. The actual diameter of the blades is a little smaller. The unique shape of the blades ensures a better dispersion and increased airflow pressure.

PCB uses a black PCB and high-quality electronic components, which are used in high-end MSI products. GPU power system uses a three-phase, single-phase memory power GDDR5.

The video card supports multiple operating profiles, which switch through MSI Gaming App application. Initial settings comply with the Gaming Mode. Faster OC Mode profile offers a combination of GPU frequencies in 1379/1493 MHz in the acceleration memory up to 7100 MHz. Given the low heat dissipation and powerful cooling can safely use this profile.
