At the moment, the most common are strips of 4 GB. This is due to the fact that many manufacturers have mastered the modern manufacturing processes for a long time and switched to chetyrehgigabitnyh chips. Accordingly, to achieve the required volume enough to place only eight chips on one side. Let us not forget that this configuration is by far the best for overclocking, as the most productive models are made under such scheme.
But now fallen on hard times: the prices for components have increased substantially and are in no hurry to fall. Along with the other components, memory always stood apart because its value is affected by many different factors. Probably everyone remembers the fateful fire at one of the factories a major producer, and then the prices for finished products increased almost twice. In December 2013 I bought Hynix modules of 8 GB of 770 rubles apiece, and today? Yes, the cheapest strap with a volume worth more than 3000 rubles. It turns out that it’s not a bad investment. Now it is necessary to look towards the budget decisions to half the volume.
Why is that? Yes, everything is very simple. Now virtually every system uses dual-channel memory controllers. Of course, there are exceptions, but if you focus on the productive segment of the mass, all the same it is two channels. Therefore, it is necessary to buy two units and is now spending 6 000-7 000 rubles for them, many are not ready psychologically. And, in my opinion, the best option today – 4 GB modules. So I decided to buy a few sets to create different systems and test them at the same time to disperse. Of course, I had to resist the temptation to take expensive overclocking kits, drawing their attention to the beginning of the table price list.
By the way, as it turned out the study, you can buy a branded set of two modules of about the same price as a couple of bars obscure the piece. That turned out to be a good set of firm Corsair, namely Vengeance CML8GX3M2A1600C9W. Maybe I was just lucky to stumble on some pre-crisis price, but among other things they brought me white radiators and low voltage.
Other participants were chosen at random, as indeed were at the top of the price list. This module NCP (NCPH9AUDR-16M58) and Kingmax (FLGF65F-D8KJB). First appeared like a real noname, as put to me without any packaging (and even more so – quite different). Kingmax also looked for the same price a lot more pleasant, but it’s not for contemplation, they were taken, so it’s time to move on to a more detailed study and testing.
NCP modules have been ordered by me through the Internet in a big company. And this is not the first time the firm brings me quite unsuited bar. If I was in the store, of course, be changed to the same, and so had only a shrug, because the courier had brought what he was given.
It is clear that no packaging is not here, but the price is among the lowest.
At a similar cost of these memory modules is provided at least some packing.

In this case, the radiators are glued well and had pretty tricky to remove them. More precisely, just one shot, which closes the memory chips.
On the other hand it is practically impossible to remove because it is adhered to a smooth surface with a greater contact area.
The heatsink is made from an aluminum alloy in some form. On the one hand it is painted in white. On the reverse is the adhesive strip, which runs at the chip level and is in contact with them. It surprises me and modules production NCP. However, one of them did was to re-mark Micron, and the second even sewn in the SPD profile XMP. Both I liked when safely bred to 1600 MHz with timings of 9-9-9, something besides Kingmax was simply not given.Then they showed good acceleration, and there could rejoice … But, unfortunately, they were intended for the platform AMD, and there is one bracket does not work (the one that does not Micron).
